📚✨ Supporting Literacy and Families in Our Community #GLOSDoorsOpen
Following a recent fundraiser, Lodge Balgonie No. 764 was delighted to present a donation to Autism Rocks Fife on the day of their Open Doors event. The charity used the funds to purchase a selection of books for a new library within their premises.
These books will support not only the children who attend the charity, but also parents and carers—offering guidance, reassurance, and shared experiences from others who understand the journey.
This also reflects the Grand Lodge of Scotland’s initiative, in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, to improve literacy among both children and adults. It’s fantastic to see how this donation will help make a real difference.
During the event, Bro David McNeil, one of the National Literacy Champions working on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, delivered a talk on improving literacy. Afterwards, he attended Autism Rocks Fife to view the new library along with RWM Bro John Rougvie and IPM Bro Ian Stevenson.
Colin Davie, Chairman of the charity and a Past Master of Lodge Balgonie, shared his thanks to the Lodge for their generous donation and for the support these books will provide to the charity’s families.
