Some Testimonials from our awesome families

Adele and family

Autism Rocks has made a huge difference in our families lives and given us the chance to experience and try new places and activities with our son in a safe environment. It is so nice to feel part of a community and meet people going through the same journey! Lisa and her team go above and beyond to make you feel at ease and not alone. We are so grateful for everything Autism Rocks does. 😀 Adele. (Parent)

We have been attending the quiet sessions at Autism Rocks with our daughter who is 3, the quiet sessions are on every second Saturday and so far we have been to two of these, It genuinely feels like we are part of a family already in such a short space of time. Autism rocks is so welcoming ,bright, colourful and well organised, it is a space so well thought out. My daughter has really struggled going to indoor places but seeing how happy and comfortable she is at Autism Rocks means the world and we cant wait to keep bringing her back. The volunteers are truly amazing, they are kind, warm, friendly and approachable, they really are interested to get to know you as a family and your child and always there to listen and offer reassurance. Liza the founder of autism rocks, she really is one in a million and what she has created at Autism Rocks is incredible, places like autism rocks is a lifeline to parents like me, being able to have a space to bring my daughter where she is safe, accepted and can be her own self, not be judged and feel included is the best feeling in the world. genuinely cannot recommend autism rocks enough, so well set up, so clean and well organised and set up perfectly and you can tell so much time and thought goes in to everything they do and provide for all the children and there families. Seeing our little girl be herself and be so calm and engaged by the environment was beautiful to watch, we are at the beginning of this rollercoaster of a journey but having a place like autism rocks will not only be a huge benefit to our little girl but a massive help & support to us as parents, truly an amazing team and place and I wish there was more Liza’s and her wonderful volunteers in the world, it would be a much better place.

I would like you to know walking into autism rocks was a big deal for me, I am not a confident person when it comes to mixing with others. But I can honestly say I was made to feel so welcome.  I look forward to coming to every single session and so do my children. It’s a safe place where we all feel we can be ourselves and not judged. The children get to try new activities and I get to chat and relax with other parents. The information and support  from Liza and the other parents is invaluable. . . Angela (Parent)

Autism rocks is a group of volunteers that open their hearts to this place for kids and young adults. They get no government funding they do this all on their own with help from parents/carers. We started going to autism rocks in Easter last year. The Easter bunny was there the kids were loud and my little 9 year old girl Heather who hates loud noises was taking part. Never thought I’d see the day. There is a large sense of community here. Everyone here, parents and volunteers are more than happy to offer advice or help in anyway they can. I’m so grateful that there is this safe place where I can take my child where she is accepted for who she is. It took 4 years for us to find Autism rocks and when I meet new people with a child with autism I recommend this place. We would be lost without it.

I would just like to say how much Autism Rocks (Fife) means to us as a family. As a single parent of an Autistic teenager, who also has learning difficulties.  Autism Rocks has been a life changer for us. We attend the family days every second Saturday which is something both my daughter and I look forward to. My daughter gets to be herself, without the judgement of others who do not understand Autism. She has made many friends at Autism Rocks, children and adults. I too have made new friends and know that anyone there would help me in any situations that I would be struggling with. Liza and the volunteers are always so welcoming and go above and beyond to ensure everyone is catered for.

There are always many activities to do at Autism Rocks from arts and crafts, outdoor play and indoor play. The days my daughter looks forward to most is the swimming which takes place every 3 months. Also on the family days when they might have special visitors, like the creepy crawly man, visits from Alpacas, face painting always go down really well with everyone. The parties for Easter, Halloween and Christmas are also a big hit with everyone and always well attended.

Autism Rocks is a vital part of the community for adults and children with Autism in Fife. Places like this are a life line for many families who have major struggles on the Autism journey. Whether it's on the Autism Rocks page where you can ask for advice from over 3100 people going through exactly what you are or in person at the centre. Through Autism Rocks you don't feel alone on this journey. (Service user/Parent)
